A little company for the working day.
Bitling is a desktop companion built primarily for macOS. It reacts to commits, test runs, deploys, and Claude Code sessions. A browser demo makes the character easy to try.
The problem to work through
Developer tools are usually all output and status. I wanted to explore a small, expressive interaction around the events already happening during a working day.
Events become behavior
The companion connects developer activity to small moments of character.
Motion that feels coherent
I worked on pose transitions and character-specific behavior so the reactions feel connected.
A low-friction introduction
The browser demo lets a visitor try the playful side of the project without installing the desktop application.
Useful can have a personality
The main desktop implementation targets macOS. The repository also records an unverified Windows port; it is not presented here as a tested release.
What I take from it
Playful interactions deserve the same attention to transitions, responsiveness, and clear feedback as any other interface.
